The Civil War is acknowledged as the greatest war in American history. It is also known as "The war that never ended." Nearly three million fought and about six hundred thousand people died. It was the only war fought on American soil, and perhaps that is why we are so fascinated by The Civil War. As a result of this historical event many fictional and non-fictional books and stories were written about it. Two great passages I look up to are - "An Episode of War" by Stephen Crane, and "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh" by Ray Bradbury. These authors take you back into the time of The Civil War. You can very well visualize the war, and what affect it had on those unfortunate people, by what they write.
